Hi,

ich starte mysql5.0.45 auf suse 9.3 mit /usr/local/mysql5/bin/mysqld_safe user=mysql &. Dann kommt die Meldung:

Starting mysqld daemon with databases from /usr/

Danach kann ich auf der Konsole nichts mehr eingeben. Ich gebe fuser -n tcp 3306 in einem 2ten Konsolenfenster ein und sehe, dass MySQL nicht gestartet ist. Was habe ich da jetzt falsch gemacht? Auch wenn ich aux|grep mysql eingebe startet er nicht. Laut der Meldung müsste er doch eigentlich laufen, oder?

hast du schon nam /var/log/messages durchgesehen?

Du meinst wohl

[code]ps aux | grep mysql[/quote]

? Das liefert dir aber nur die Prozesse, in denen mysql vorkommt.

In der Regel gibt es für MySQL ein Start-Script, das verwendet werden sollte um MySQL zu starten. Bei Suse sollte dieses auch unter /etc/init.d zu finden sein.

Gib mir bitte ein paar mehr Infos zu deiner Konfiguration, denn sonst kann ich nur raten.

Ich habe mysql per Hand installiert, also kein rpm. Mysqld_safe sollte den Server doch eigentlich starten, oder? In /var/log/messages steht nichts besonderes.

Hier ist die Konfiguration:

Hallo Erecthoma2006,

ich sehe keine größeren Fehler in der Config. Lediglich problematisch sein könnte die aktivierte MySQL-Cluster-Geschichte (siehe "server-id = 1", ...). Theoretisch sollten die beiden Optionen jedoch keinen Einfluss haben.

Wo hast du die MySQL-Sourcen heruntergeladen? Was ist das für ein Package gewesen?

Hmm,

dann sollte der Server nach dem installieren sinnvoll starten - behaupte ich mal. Da ich nicht auf die Kiste draufsehen kann fällt es mir schwer weiter zu "debuggen". Wenn du mir Zugriff auf die Kiste gibts könnte ich evtl. besser helfen...

Das kann ich leider nicht machen Ich versteh das irgendwie auch nicht. Na ja dann muss ich jetzt eben weiter machen. Meistens klappt es bei mir dann nach ein paar Stunden/Tagen. Nur hier war ich echt am Verzweifeln. Danke für die schnellen Antworten.

Jetzt geht es. Ich hatte MySQL nochmal neu installiert. Ich habe eine Sache anders gemacht. Die Mysql Datenbanken habe ich nicht über /scripts/mysql_install_db, sondern über /bin/mysql_install_db installiert.

Perfekt, dann läuft das ja jetzt.

BTW: In der Regel initialisiert sich die MySQL selbst, wenn man versucht diese mit einem

zu starten.
