Standard Mysql Server Einstellunen Optimieren

Hi

ich habe eine Frage und zwar wie kann ich die einstellungen am Mysql Server Optimieren? Bzw Vergrößern weil PHPmyAdmin zeigt mir Nämlich Häufig an das manche Sachen am Limit laufen und ich merke auch selbst das wenn ich ab undzu ne Abfrage mache der Server relativ lange braucht um zu antworten.

Momentan sind es ca. 10.77 Query/sec und es Steigt stetig

An den Tabellen usw kann ich leider nichts ändern. Hier sind die Werte die bei Mysql an die Grenze kommen un dich erhöhen möchte.

Created_tmp_disk_tables
Key_writes( KP ob man das erhöhen kann )
Opened_tables
Table_locks_waited

Die Sachen die diese Felder Betreffen müsseen erhöht werden, nur ist mein problem das man das ja in der my.cnf erhöht bloß bei mir fehlen die Werte und ich wollte fragen ob ich die einfach so darenschreiben kann und dann den mysql Server neustarten muss ?

p.S Vom Arbeitsspeicher verbraucht der Server grademal 140MB und wir haben 1 GB. Und CPU ist auch nur zu 5 % Ausgelastet
